Tomi’s Cup Rule Book
1. Tournament Format
The tournament starts with 32 players/teams.
Matches from the round of 32 to the round of 16 are single games up to 21 points, with a two-point difference required for victory (maximum score cap at 30 points).
Matches from 16 to 8 follow the same format (21 points, two-point difference, max 30 points).
A strict 30-minute time limit is applied to all matches up to the quarterfinals. If a match is not completed within the scheduled time, players are responsible for any additional court fees incurred.
2. Match Format from Quarterfinals Onward
From the round of 8 onwards (quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals), matches follow the standard badminton rules: best of 3 sets, each set up to 21 points.
A two-point lead is required to win each set, with a maximum score cap at 30 points.
3. Player Conduct and Disputes
The organizer holds the final say in all disputes.
Any player exhibiting inappropriate behavior that disrupts the sporting environment may be removed from the competition without refund.
Misconduct may result in warnings and, if necessary, forced withdrawal from the tournament.
4. Loser’s Bracket
Players losing in the semifinals will compete for third place.
Matches for third place will be conducted with the same rules as the quarterfinals (best of 3 sets of 21 points).
5. Equipment and Shuttles
Official tournament shuttles will be provided starting from the quarterfinals (top 8 players/teams).
For matches from the round of 32 to the round of 8, players may provide their own shuttles or request tournament-provided ones.
6. Attendance and Withdrawal
Players must be present at their scheduled match times. Failure to appear will result in an automatic withdrawal and disqualification without a refund.
7. Photography and Media
Photos taken during the competition may be used for promotional purposes. Players may request a takedown of specific images, but the organizer is not liable for any distributed content.
8. Liability and Injuries
The organizer is not responsible for any injuries incurred during the competition.
Participation in the competition is at the player’s own risk. The organizer is not obligated to cover any medical expenses related to injuries sustained during matches.
9. Additional Rules
Players should arrive at least 15 minutes before their scheduled match time.
Warm-up time is limited to 5 minutes before the match begins.
All matches must adhere to the outlined rules, and any violations may result in penalties or disqualification.
Unsportsmanlike conduct such as excessive arguing, aggressive behavior, or intentional disruption will not be tolerated.
By participating in Tomi’s Cup, players agree to abide by these rules and uphold the spirit of fair competition and sportsmanship.
